I've been in to playing music for a while now; guitar, then piano, and now mostly electronic/synthesized, I'm fascinated by sounds and sounscapes, harmony and dissonance. Speaking for myself, I draw most of my influence from jazz, most everything coming out of the fifties and sixties: west coast, cool jazz (Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Brubeck, Paul Desmond, Stan Getz, Ahmad Jamal), east coast, bebop (Bird, Bud Powell, Charlie Mingus, Thelonius Monk), as well as third stream work (MJQ and any version of Concierto de Aranjuez I can find). Jazz dominates my listening habits, and manifests itself in my hip hop production.
